This is a classic among UFO pictures and was taken in 1947 in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. It has been examined innumerable times over the years and is a perfect example of how good UFO pictures can be. The many photographic experts that have looked at it say it is not a fraud. You have to remember in the 40's digital photography and Photoshop were not even a gleam in Bill Gates' eyes. He wasn't even born yet.
It is problematic that many UFO pictures are rather blurry and out of focus as the photographers are generally caught by surprise and in most cases the craft is moving. The beauty of this picture and what makes it stand out among other UFO pictures is the clarity of it. The photographer was either very experienced or extremely lucky as he appeared to have his camera ready and the UFO was hovering. That combination of events makes this one of the best UFO pictures ever taken.
